You are invited to the Espace Info Jeunes (Youth information centre), Centre Régional Information Jeunesse Auvergne (Auvergne Regional Youth Information Centre), with a public service mission to young people, offering them 3 levels of information and services.

This section describes the Youth information centre layout and services:


Basement

DOCUMENTATION CENTRE : With answers to your questions
Housing benefit, routes into work, a judo club address or rock guitar lessons, cheap accommodation in Paris or Singapore, how to become an au-pair in Madrid, or language trips to London.

These questions (and many others) are answered in the Documentation centre, with:

  • 800 constantly updated and freely available dossiers, 600 practical cards updated each year, thousands of addresses for education, careers, health, accommodation, leisure, sport, holidays, foreign countries
  • guides and leaflets to take away describing all the regions of France and ski centres, to help you prepare your holiday,
  • information centres specialising in Europe, or health,
  • all the news about shows, concerts and sports events
  • information days covering things in the news,
  • free information desks manned by Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (family benefit), Avocats du Barreau (lawyers), Banques (banks),...
  • free sessions introducing the internet..., broadcast of a monthly radio programme covering a subject of interest to young people: jobs, housing, road safety, AIDS

ESPACE VOYAGES-SERVICES (Travel & service centre): Satisfy your needs and your desires
Are you looking for good value transport? Do you want to spend a weekend in a European capital? Do you like discovery and adventure? Do you want to do something or just lie on a beach?

The travel centre team will help you to choose a solution which meets your expectations as well as your budget:

  • coach tickets, plane tickets, stays suited to youth budgets, UCPA sports training (only regional sales centre, tel: 04 73 92 60 61), information on railway timetables and offers for young people.
  • adverts: jobs, accommodation, hitch-hiking, sell/swap, lessons, babysitting
  • ticket service for cinemas, concerts or shows.
  • a MIF jeunes (youth mutual company) office providing information about this health insurance scheme, and to sign up.

First floor

ESPACE EMPLOI-FORMATION (Jobs and training centre)
To help you look for work:

  • 200 information dossiers on all careers and business sectors, how to look for work, employment legislation, hiring support, unemployment support, organisations and training courses,
  • job offers (A.N.P.E. job postings, temporary positions, adverts from the press),
  • apprentice and training contract offers,
  • information on regional training courses,
  • a press centre (newspapers and magazines focusing on jobs),
  • services: minitel, free photocopying (CVs and documentation), typing of CVs,
  • information days where you can meet professionals.

ESPACE INITIATIVES JEUNES (Youth Initiative centre)
To help you make your idea become a real project. You have an idea which you would like to see come true.
But you want to know how to create a dossier, who to contact for advice or financial assistance.

The Youth initiative centre manager has start-up training and is able to answer your questions, assess the feasibility of your project, give you advice about creating your dossier and will point you towards the organisation with the best suited support for your needs. The manager will remain your impartial point of contact throughout the time your project is being set up.

To get information close to home. This information and some of these services are available in the regions BIJ and PIJ (Youth offices and information points) (addresses available at the Youth information centre).

ESPACE INFO JEUNES is an association set up by the Ministry for Youth and Sport and the Puy-de-Dôme MIF (mutual organisation), with the support of COMAC, the Clermont-Ferrand Community the Auvergne Regional Council and the Puy-de-Dôme General Council.
