The Clermont-Ferrand Opera House
The oldest stage in Clermont-Ferrand is the Opera House, built at the end of the 19th century in an Italianate style, with 900 seats. However, shows directed by the Opera House team can also be seen in other places. The Maison des Sports, also open for large-scale shows and sporting events, can seat between 2680 and 4550 people, with actual numbers depending on the size of the stage. The Maison du Peuple can hold 550 people seated, or 600 standing: this flexibility makes it the preferred location for rock concerts, but it also hosts theatrical shows. With two theatres, Jean Cocteau and Boris Vian, along with show and conference halls, the Maison des Congrès is the most sought-after venue. In all, it has 1750 places.
