Les crèches collectives (collective day nurseries) enable the child to get used to life in society at a very young age.
Les crèches familiales (family day nurseries) places infants in the care of registered child minders. Children are placed in a beneficial domestic environment.
The haltes-garderies (drop-in centres) are extremely flexible and take children aged between 3 months and 4 years during the day time, on an ad-hoc basis.
Le Relais Assistantes Maternelles (Child Minder information service) - in partnership with the CAF (Family benefits office) - is a point of contact providing information to families about the different types of child care available.

Le Relais Assistantes Maternelles (Child Minder information service) - in partnership with the CAF (Family benefits office) - is a point of contact providing information to families about the different types of child care available.
This service provides parents with a list of independent registered child minders in the northern part of Clermont-Ferrand (the following districts: la Gauthière, la Plaine, les Vergnes, Champratel, Croix de Neyrat).
The assistants at the Child Minder Information Service will help parents through the administrative steps necessary to employ a child minder, informing them of their status, their rights and obligations as an employer.
